Everyday crying over music: A survey

چکیده

Human emotional weeping, or crying, occurs in response to a wide array of antecedents. Although music is often mentioned specifically as stimulus that may make individuals cry, few studies have systematically explored the characteristics these crying episodes. The present study examines over music. Participants ( N = 2778; 1716 women) completed survey asking about last time they cried while listening music, their associated emotions and physical experiences, details song were to, day, presence others, overall experience episode itself. Crying appears be relatively common mainly when person alone during afternoon evening. variety songs, attributed sad memories, nostalgia, itself, lyrics. They experienced being moved, sadness, powerlessness, nostalgia These findings are discussed context how compare with research on general.
